6.5 Earthquake Strikes in Idaho - Largest since 1983

Tuesday evening, at the Albertsons supermarket, around 100 miles north of Boise, Susie Baker looked up and saw all the hanging street signs swinging and moving. At that point she thought she heard a sound… and the floor was moving, said Baker, a store employee.

It was the strongest, largest, and most powerful earthquake to hit the Gem State in a long time, a 6.5(magnitude) earthquake that shocked individuals in Idaho and three surrounding states, and caused no wounds or harm.

The earthquake was focused 73 miles upper east of Meridian, close to Boise, as per the U.S. Geographical Survey, and, invoked old memories of the state's most terrible catastrophic event, the 6.9 greatness Borah Peak quake about 40 years ago, that murdered two individuals and damaged the whole city, as per the Idaho Geological Survey.

Melissa Hawkins, a resident at Boise, said she assumed that the earthquake was in Boise. She stated that this earthquake brought back memories of the Borah Peak, memories like lights swinging in the house.
