Mr. Withers, who possessed a reminiscent, amazing R&B voice was in his 30s when his first collection was released, "Just as I Am," in 1971. It included "Ain't No Sunshine," a sad song that was on the Billboard Top 10. Different hits were released later, like "Lean On Me," a song of devotion that was No. 1 in 1972 and has been remixed and sang by different people in several styles.

Other successful hits : "Use Me" in 1972, "Lovely Day" in 1977 and "Just the Two of Us" in 1981.
